Jeremy Allen White Reportedly Met With Marvel About Wolverine

Jeremy Allen White and Hugh Jackman as Wolverine

Could the chef from The Bear be sharpening a different set of knives? Jeremy Allen White has reportedly met with Marvel Studios, sparking speculation that he could be the MCU’s new Wolverine.

What the Report Says

The news comes from Jeff Sneider’s newsletter The InSneider, which described it as “whispers” that White met with Marvel about what is expected to be a small role in the upcoming X-Men reboot. That part would reportedly lead to a lot more screen time later. The report doesn’t name the character, but fans quickly connected the dots to Logan, the biggest X-Men role still waiting to be cast. Marvel has not commented.

It also fits earlier chatter. As we reported recently, another insider claimed Marvel was already in talks with an unnamed actor to take over the role.

The X-Men Reboot So Far

Directed by Thunderbolts filmmaker Jake Schreier, X-Men is set for release on May 5, 2028. At D23 in August, Marvel revealed Christopher Abbott as Charles Xavier, Inde Navarrette as Rogue and Adam Driver as Mr. Sinister. A Wolverine was notably missing from the lineup.

Following Hugh Jackman

Whoever lands the part will be stepping into Hugh Jackman’s boots. Jackman played Logan for more than two decades, most recently in 2024’s Deadpool & Wolverine. White, an Emmy winner for The Bear, has already shown he can transform physically, bulking up to play wrestler Kerry Von Erich in The Iron Claw. He also starred as Bruce Springsteen in Deliver Me From Nowhere.

For now, this is still a rumor. But if the whispers are true, the MCU’s next Wolverine might already be in the building.
