Another Jolie-Pitt name change is now official. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s daughter Vivienne has legally dropped “Pitt” from her surname, making her the fourth of the former couple’s six children to do so.
A Judge Signs Off
At a hearing on Monday, November 2, a California judge approved the 18-year-old’s petition to change her name from Vivienne Marcheline Jolie-Pitt to Vivienne Marcheline Jolie, according to court documents obtained by People.
Vivienne filed the request in July, just days after turning 18. As California law requires, she then published notice of the petition in the Los Angeles Daily Journal once a week for four weeks in a row, from July 24 to August 14, giving anyone who wanted to object the chance to do so before the final hearing.
She Had Already Been Going by Jolie
The change makes official something Vivienne started two years ago. In 2024 she worked as a producer on the Tony-winning Broadway musical The Outsiders alongside her mother, and the show’s Playbill credited her simply as “Vivienne Jolie.”
Four of Six Children
Vivienne follows three of her siblings. Shiloh was the first to legally drop “Pitt,” filing on her 18th birthday in 2024. Maddox and Zahara were both granted their own name changes in September. For now, sons Pax and Knox are still using “Jolie-Pitt.”
Pitt and Jolie split in 2016 and reached a divorce settlement in December 2024, ending eight years of legal battles. Pitt has rarely spoken publicly about his relationship with his children, and he has not commented on Vivienne’s name change.
