1994 to 1998 – First Meeting to First Date
The two met for the first time in a casual interaction as their managers were friends. However, years later in 1998, the two went on their first date together. At the time, Brad had just broken up with actress Gwyneth Paltrow and Jennifer had split from Tate Donovan. It was through their managers that they met again for a date. In 2004, Jen later told Diane Sawyer that the “evening was really easy” and the date “was really fun.”
November 1999 – Engagement Ring spotted
The two made their public appearances together for the first time at the 51st Primetime Emmy Awards. The appearance on the red carpet confirmed their relationship status. But the engagement ring was first spotted when the two attended a Sting concert together on November 29, 1999. The duo show off Jennifer’s new engagement ring on stage. According to reports, the actor reportedly spent $500,000 on the custom bauble, which boasted plenty of diamonds set in a unique circular shape.
July 2000 – The Jennifer Aniston Brad Pitt Wedding
The wedding of the decade was attended by 200 of their friends, family and costars beside the beach in Malibu, California. The couple’s vows were also talked about as Aniston promised to always make Pitt’s “favourite banana milkshake”. Jennifer walked down the aisle in a silk-and-satin beaded gown by Lawrence Steele. The nuptials ended with a 13-minute firework show and cost over $1 million to the couple.
November 22, 2001 – The One Where Brad Pitt Makes A Cameo
Brad also made a guest appearance on Jennifer’s hit show Friends. The episode, called “The One With The Rumor’ saw Brad’s character hate on Rachel Green, famously played by his wife.
2002 – Aniston And Brad Launch Production Company
Called Plan B Entertainment, the production company was started with Brad Greg. It went on to produce 17 films including 2004’s Troy (starring Pitt) and 2005’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. After their split in 2005, Pitt became the company’s sole owner.
2004 – ‘It’s Time’
After Jennifer’s hit show Friends ended she opened up about wanting kids. She told The Guardian she was ready to have a baby and added. “It’s time. It’s time. You know, I think you can work with a baby, I think you can work pregnant, I think you can do all of it. So I’m just truly looking forward to slowing down.”
May 2004 – Mr and Mrs Smith
Brad Pitt was filming for the action project with Angelina Jolie, leading to cheating rumours. In 2006, Jolie recounted the filming and told Vogue that the two began to fall in love on the sets of the film. She said, “Because of the film, we ended up being brought together to do all these crazy things, and I think we found this strange friendship and partnership that kind of just suddenly happened. October 2005 – Jennifer Aniston And Brad Pitt Are Officially Divorced
The couple filed for divorce in March 2005 and within months it was finalized on October 2, 2005. Meanwhile, Pitt and Jolie got engaged in 2012 and tied the knot at winegrowing estate Château Miraval in Correns, France. Meanwhile, Aniston also moved on after Pitt and got engaged to Mulholland Drive actor Theroux in August 2012. January 2020 – The Reunion Photo That Broke the Internet
The two crossed paths again in 2020 during the SAG Awards, and their reaction had fans hoping for a reunion on the romantic front. However, Jennifer cleared the air and said, “It was absolutely fun. You know, Brad and I are buddies. Like, we’re friends and we speak.”
