Wild One Piece Theories That Could Be True; What Is Gol D Rogers’ Treasure?

Eiichira Oda is one of the top-selling authors in the world, and his story, One Piece, is finally in its final arc. It first began as a serialized manga in the Japanese magazine Weekly Shōnen Jump. The first four chapters were collected and released in December 1997. It only took a few years for the manga to be adapted into an anime in 1999, and the rest is history. Nobody can deny the influence the show has had in the last two decades.

From beloved characters joining the Straw Hats to other beloved characters meeting their ends. The show has caused uproar for many reasons. Now the biggest chatter has been about how the show could end. What kind of ending could Luffy get? What is the One Piece? Who will be the King of Pirates? The story is also expected to answer many questions including the mystery around Luffy’s mother, his powers, and Shank’s connection to the Gorosei. As we wait to find what’s next Luffy and The Straw Hats, here are some wild theories about the show and its ending.

Luffy’s Hidden Dream

You’d think Luffy’s dream is to become the Pirate King since he always talks about it every time he meets someone new, but recently it was confirmed to be otherwise. He has another goal, which he told his crew mates that it’s his dream. It wasn’t revealed to the reader or the anime audience, but there are many theories about it. Luffy had shared the same dream with his brothers but it was kept hidden from the fans, now many believe he had the same dream as Roger when he was younger. As Roger’s dream was also laughed at and never revealed.

A young Luffy loved to be around Shank’s crew who loved to party, and after every win Straw Hats also threw a big party after every adventure and every victory. In the end, Luffy being the Pirate King and freeing the world would lead to a massive celebration!

Luffy’s Mother

This popular theory claims that the mystery of Luffy’s mother will be revealed by the end of One Piece, adding that it is Crocodile. Ivanko’s meeting with Crocodile hinted at the former using his gender-changing hormone powers to turn Lady Croc into a Sir. Crocodile. While Crocodile did try to kill him, it was when Luffy’s family ties were a huge secret. After his identity is revealed, Crocodile is seen protecting Luffy as well.

Laugh Tale Location

Laugh Tale’s location is one of the biggest secrets in One Piece, but one theory suggests that it is located on the missing left eye of the skull that once made up Jaya. Old maps of the island show it was shaped like a skull, but the left eye socket part of the island has been missing. The theory suggests many One Piece characters also have marks on their left eye hinting at the connection. The Jaya island’s right eye side was shot to the sky as Skypeia but it is being claimed that the missing part has sunk to the bottom of the sea.

According to another theory there is an island under Enies Lobby where it’s always sunny. Joy Boy is known for having a connection to the sun god Nika, which makes it possible for Laugh tale to be the same.

Joy Boy’s Connection To Ancient Kingdom

Void Century is another big mystery about the series, and in the last year the author hinted at Joy Boy’s connection to freeing people. While the timeline was never confirmed not much is known about both and it can be assumed that they took place during the same time. The theory also suggests that Joy Boy’s promise and the items he left behind (like the Poneglyphs) are crucial to understanding the true nature of the Void Century and the history.

The Will of D

In the last few episodes of the anime King Nefertari Cobra was seen asking about the meaning of Will of D as he too has the same name. The name does carry a significant weight in the story. They are confirmed to be the people who opposed the 19 royal families that made the World Government. This theory claims that those with the initial “D” in their name are connected through a shared destiny or purpose that could be pivotal in the final conflict of the series.

One Piece Is Not A Real Treasure

While the Great Pirate Era began after Gol D Roger revealed that his massively acquired treasure was hidden somewhere in the grand line, he didn’t say One Piece was the only treasure. Some fans claim that the One Piece White Beard also confirmed in his last moments may be more of an intangible treasure as a representation of the idea of freedom, friendship, or the realization of dreams.

Shanks and the Gorosei

Shanks shocked fans when he appeared on screen alongside the Gorosei. Not much of their connection and conversation was revealed by Oda, but the pannel has left fans talking. A popular theory suggests that Shanks has a deeper connection with not just the Gorosei but also the Royal families. Gorosei may also have had a bigger connection to what happened across the Grand Line and may have influenced action more than previously thought.

Most Ridiculous But Popular Theory

Buggy will become the Pirate King. Buggy in all this time across the Grand Line, from his childhood has failed his way up to the top. He is only one step away from taking control of the Grand Line. He has had the same connections as Shanks and grew up on the ship of Gol D Roger. He should be just as capable, and some old One Piece Volume covers, and colored artwork also have shared hints of how Buggy could be the End Game for One Piece.

The One Piece is Binks’ Sake

Another theory about the final treasure aka the One Piece claims that the term “one piece” has several meanings, including “that which unites people.” And the iconic song Binks’ Sake fits the bill. It tells the tale of an Ancient Kingdom through its lyrics and has the Japanese equivalent of the term “laugh tale” in it. Throughout the song, Sake promises to unite people, and without a doubt, Roger Pirates also sang it before they reached Laugh Tale. It could be all the Sake, Luffy needs to throw a party around the world.
